Visual Novels are a tradition built on their extremely rigid form, it would be catastrophic for language and understanding if we start calling every Western not-moviegame not-walkingsimulator a VN because nobody can come up with their own conceptual terminology.

There would still be people that would choose to work within this tradition even if videogame writing wasn't fucking terrible by default (collapse of formal education + the actually good writers getting kicked from the industry or allowed to slip through the cracks, both Wooooke's fault) and production costs and barrier to entry weren't factors. Do you think that VN authors would've made Metroidvaniabornelikeemups or FPS games if AAA were being written by people like Jason Jones and Clint Hocking? Or would their would-be authors magically get picked up and be given places within the bigger videogames industry? Ryukishi got to work on Silent Hill f, but he still had to get his name out there with his VNs; LOL if you believe that this could ever happen with Western videogame talent pipelines in their current state. Really please elaborate on what you meant by this because your statement only gets more retarded the longer I think through it.

Gave this one a try, I've only completed Namo's route for now so I can only speak for that one. 
The writing is mostly light-hearted and comedic in tone but has plenty of sweet moments. Had me hooked me well enough throughout the story.
Note it's one of these VN's where the protagonist has no personality (he lost his memories when he got isekai'd to the furry dimension, of course). Dialogue options don't matter whatsoever; whatever route you end up with is determined by who you hang out with the most, and each character has one ending only.
The art style grew on me but I'm kinda disappointed by the lack of snouts. I guess the artist is unfamiliar with drawing anthros. Would've liked some more CG's though.
There are some optional H scenes but they're relatively tame compared to what's out there.
Paw pads are referred to as jelly beans.
Overall, it has some rough edges, but I liked it for what it is.
